The street side of the belt is all top grain leather. Craigie can even use elk hide (stretchy) because of the unique lamination of the vegetable tanned leather.

Craigie's
Kilt Belt is Top Grain upholstery leather laminated in the center with non-stretch
vegetable tanned leather, and then lined with the soft loop half of the
hook and loop fastener. It makes wearing the belt a pleasure. Zero stretch, and the liner clings (not sticks) to the wool of your tartan. Once you try Craigie's unique triple laminated kilt belt, there is no going back, and it is still $70.00 |

From the street side the buckle looks like this when the belt is looped through and pressed to it's lining. |

From the belly side, the buckle looks like this. Notice the hook that attaches to the metal fitting on the other end of the belt. | |

The piece of the hook section of the hook and loop is 2 1/2" long on the pointed end of the kilt belt. Just pull it through the buckle, adjust to length and press the hooked half against the looped half for a solid and infinitely adjustable fit. |
